A set of four plates each containing 98 tiny magnetic pins show magnetic fields very clearly on an OHP or in three dimensions. When the four plates are stacked in a slab they become magnetised by stroking with a magnet and demagnetised by shaking, making an excellent model of domain theory and the Curie point.
