Logicator Teaching Support

Introduction to Computer Control

If you have not taught computer control before, you will find the “Introduction to Control and Monitoring” useful both for yourself and as the basis for an introductory lesson for pupils.  It uses simple interactive animations to explain the basic ideas of control and monitoring, showing examples from everyday life; and relating them to classroom activity.

These materials are ideal for use after showing the “Introduction to Control and Monitoring” presentation to a class. They are based on the Soft Systems, and include four Powerpoint presentations aimed at encouraging pupils to plan their control programs in a structured way.  Each one is fully annotated for the teacher and shows how pupils can produce evidence for assessment.  Also included are a Help sheet for pupils, plus planning and homework sheets.
