If you have not taught computer control before, you will find the “Introduction to Control and Monitoring” useful both for yourself and as the basis for an introductory lesson for pupils.  It uses simple interactive animations to explain the basic ideas of control and monitoring, showing examples from everyday life; and relating them to classroom activity.

These materials are designed to be used by pupils.  Each set shows them how to build, test and edit pre-designed programs.  They are also required to build programs of their own.  The Teacher's Notes give an overview of all these materials.  The Solutions referred to in the Teacher's Notes are included in the Help file in Control Station software.

Control Station Teacher-led Materials
These materials are ideal for use after showing the “Introduction to Control and Monitoring” presentation to a class. They are based on the Soft Systems, and include three Powerpoint presentations aimed at encouraging children to plan their control programs in a structured way.  Each one is fully annotated for the teacher and shows how children can produce evidence for assessment.  Also included are a Help sheet for pupils, plus planning sheets for each of the Soft Systems and the traffic light model (included in the Control Station Pack).
