This Class Set contains 5 identical storage cases each containing a single and double acting cylinder, four 3/2 valves, two 5/2 valves, reservoir, shuttle valve, flow control valves and connectors, 5 mini technology platforms with manifolds, 6 x 25m coils of pipe, 5 copies of the airways book. This kit can be used to introduce pneumatics at KS3 and meets the requirements of GCSE, A level and higher syllabuses. It also provides content for the new Engineering Diploma. The unique Airways kit is based on the patented Economatics Technology Platform:

  • Matrix teaching board system, providing a secure mounting base for industry type pneumatic components but with the flexibility for modelling circuits in response to real situations
  • Industry standard components
  • All the components in the kit are fitted with push in connectors that allow circuits to be built and changed easily and quickly
  • A firm, safe connection is made instantly when the pipe is pushed on to a connector.
  • Disconnection is equally simple
  • Easily stored components
  • Comprehensive classroom and teaching notes
  • Individual component upgrade and service support

Teaches:

  • Use of 3/2 and 5/2 valves for direct and pilot control of cylinders
  • Piston speed control
  • Logic functions
  • Semi automatic and automatic reciprocation
  • Time delay using a reservoir

Note: Airways requires a compressed air supply.

Add Single Upgrade Pack to teach:

  • Air bleed circuit
  • Sequential control of valves
  • Cascade system

The Class Set covers all aspects of pneumatics covered by the Group Kit except for air bleed circuit, sequential control and cascade system. To allow demonstration of these topics, if necessary, one of the cases in the set can be upgraded to a Group Kit by adding a single upgrade pack.
